The relationship between the United States and Europe is the most important bilateral relationships in the world. Despite the rapid growth of China, India and other developing nations, the United States and Europe remain the world's biggest economic and military powers, they play a leading role in international political relations, dominate global trade and remain key to finding global solutions to the biggest challenges facing the future of mankind.
Yet despite the importance of the Trans Atlantic relationship, America and Europe have very different political economic and social agenda's and reguarly disagree with each other on a wide range of issues of critical importance to the international community. The American European Institute is an online forum which brings people together from both sides of the Atlantic to discuss and debate these issues, with the aim of strengthening the American European relationship for future generations
One aspect of globalisation which may have an impact on the relationship and needs to moniored is foood security. As a group we feel that the increased demand for staple foods in the emerging countries, especially China and India, may have a future effect on the relationship.
The American European Institute provides a crucial forum for discussion research and analysis and is supported by resources and expertise provided on a voluntary basis by its founding members and supporters around the world.
